Thanks for taking time and getting this up and running. I have been using it for a while and I honestly love. I thought I would contribute with my feedback as I have been reading some of the comments. I have seen a lot of the people complaining about the price model and I would like to se an option to buy a lifetime license, similar to Plex offers. I know this could be a strech but I thought this could be a great option. One more thing that I miss of the old Gmail is a shortcut to "Move To" or "Label" email. Something we could quickly while reading the email maybe Press CTRL + M and move it to a folder or CTRL + L and label as something.
With selection I love the fact you can CTRL + A and select All messages. Maybe you could incorporate something like CTRL + 1 would select the first email at the top, CTRL + 2 the second and so on. This could be ready handy as I receive my emails from different teams I would love to have this as an option so I can label mu more quickly using keyboard.
Thanks again for this amazing addition to the clunky Gmail design.
Would love to see sort. Filter has its place, but I still end up going to the outlook client for sort, which creates it's own set of problems. Is this on the feature roadmap?
Sorting (as Outlook does) is beyond what Simplify can do without API access. Even with API access, you would need to disable conversation threading. And even then, it would be a massive performance challenge as some have 10's of thousands of emails in their inbox.
Thanks for the feedback - makes sense. ironically sort is the feature that makes it far easier to group and bulk delete so that we don't end up with thousands of emails. I do plan to pay for the service, and I just showed my wife who didn't know about it, and will subscribe both of our gmail accounts.
A while ago, you mentioned the idea of applying your UX philosophy to other services as well, as you've done for Gmail. With the shift to working on Simplify full-time, do you see that still being the case? If so, any idea when?
Yes! I already have a version of Simplify Chrome (what I will do next) that I use and love. But I don't want to work on it or any others until Simplify Gmail v2 is fully launched.
Hi, love your work! To make it more layman friendly, is it possible to include a glossary with screenshot illustrations for jargons like add-ons tray, I can guess what it means but some are harder to guess out of context (e.g. in settings).
Thanks for asking Ryan. I'd rather find terms that are obvious/intuitive but yes, I may need to call out some of them if I can't find a good enough term.
I think the two most confusing ones are "App Menu" (a term I made up which is probably too close to the already existing "App Switcher") and Settings.
1. "Settings" could be Gmail Settings or Simplify Settings and I don't always clarify which I'm talking about. Generally, if I'm suggesting I could let you customize it with a setting, I'm referring to Simplify Settings.
Also, getting to an extensions settings are a bit tricky and not the same in each browser. So I'm making it easier in Simplify v2 and adding a button labeled "Simplify Settings" in Gmail's Quick Settings pane (the right pane that shows up when you click on the settings gear in Gmail).
2. "App Menu" refers to the tray of icons for Gmail that I've created that shows up when you hover over the profile photo. Totally up for calling it something else if anyone has a more intuitive name.
Are there others that tripped you up? "Nav" is short for Navigation which is the list of labels and places on the left side of Gmail. I sometimes worry that "Nav" is a bit too jargony though.

L and V will do Label and moVe if you have the Gmail keyboard shortcuts enabled.
I do hope to create a ⌘K menu like Superhuman that does all kinds of stuff.
Awesome! Thanks

This all looks amazing and I'm excited for it.

Oh~ I can't wait to see Simplify version 2
So looking forward to Simplify Version 2’s arrival.
Sounds all very amazing. Can't wait to try it out. When will Simplify v2 be available? Hopefully soon, please......
I'm trying to get a beta out to trusted testers ASAP (this week). If it goes well, hopefully not too much longer.
happy to help if you need extra testers
Sounds great. Would like to test your hard work 😀. Thanks
Hover for Chat, hide unused, and sweep functions... can't wait! (Might be able to assist w/ a Suite test account - will email you shortly.)
Google PMs will read this, implement 10-15% and get a promo
Fine by me. I just want Gmail to be better for as many people as possible. :)
