Shifting the convo to the left... THANK YOU!! Will this also work with the reading pane view enabled (also beautiful work)? i.e. will everything “scrunch” together accordion-style until the Compose message is sent, and then un-scrunch?

Not quite. I'm not ensuring the message and compose don't overlap no matter what. I'm just doing what I can to reduce/remove the overlap by moving things around (e.g., move the conversation to the left and compose to the right).

As such, in vertical reading pane, it is only helpful if your monitor is really wide as the reading pane and message already take up a fair bit of space (even more so if you have the nav and/or add-ons open).

If I scrunch up the reading pane, then there is a host of issues that cascade out of that change with reflowing content or letting you interact with the reading pane or conversation with an open compose mole.

Makes sense. Looking forward to it, clean minimalism at its finest!

Thoughtful, beautiful simplifications and optimizations. Thank you dearly for your work on this!

Thank you, this is all excellent! I would love to be able to see conversation and composer side by side.

I'm available as a 'friendly' for alpha/beta testing, Michael - just saying. Can't wait for v2!

I'm getting very close to launching beta version to trusted testers. When I do, I will invite newsletter subscribers first.

I can't wait! Do you have an ETA for the new version of Simplify?

If you need someone to pound on it – let me know. Long, long time ago – but I hired Kevin Fox (original Gmail designer) onto my team at Mozilla. I have a sweet spot for the simplicity that was Gmail (once upon the time).

Love Kevin! He was my first mentor at Google and we've stayed in touch over the years.
